Networking breakfast – Friday 19 January, The Delaunay, London

We were delighted to welcome a high-calibre, vibrant and engaged group of Chief Marketing Officers to our latest networking breakfast event at The Delaunay, London.

Hosted by our MD & Founder, Suzie Walker, the meeting provided guests with an opportunity to expand their network and collaborate in a discussion on the challenges and opportunities within their roles, careers, and sectors. As always, Suzie also spent some time updating the group on the latest developments in recruitment for senior leaders in marketing, digital, and technology – functions that are becoming increasingly intertwined.

The group dynamics made for genuinely useful discussions, which could have lasted an extra hour. Suzie led a group discussion around purpose and intent for 2024, leading to how ‘squiggly careers’ can help to build a broad set of commercial experience. Some senior leaders find themselves between roles, so Suzie also gave advice on how to develop their personal brand, along with how further learning during that time can really give them the edge – particularly with sought after knowledge, like AI.

We often discuss book recommendations at our events, which can help guests get into the right mindset when looking to start the recruitment process. At this particular event, guests recommended the following:

Indistractable: How to Control Your Attention and Choose Your Life by Nir Eyal

The Culture Map: Decoding How People Think, Lead, and Get Things Done Across Cultures by Erin Meyer

The Chimp Paradox: The Acclaimed Mind Management Programme to Help You Achieve Success, Confidence and Happiness by Prof Steve Peters

Our networking breakfast events are extremely popular, and guests leave feeling inspired and motivated for the months ahead. We recommend them to anyone looking to expand their network, learn from their peers, and when considering their next career move.

Some kind words from our networking event guests include:

‘One of the few breakfasts/lunches/dinners of such that I’ve come away from feeling very glad to have attended.’

'Thanks for the invitation to the breakfast this morning. It was both insightful and enjoyable.’

‘Just wanted to say a big thank you for a lovely start to the day today. What a treat. A lovely group of people, great chat, helpful hints, brilliant context from the market and a tasty breakfast. Thank you so much for putting that on.’
