Head of Performance Marketing - FTSE 100 consumer services

The brief: 

To recruit a Head of Performance Marketing to lead the team within a rapidly evolving company wide “transformation for growth” programme. 

Reporting to the Digital Growth Director, the Head of Performance Marketing for this would be responsible for defining, delivering against targets for the acquisition and retention of customers. 

The client was growing their digital team to connect with new generations of customers and needed a candidate with exceptional performance marketing and leadership skills. They were looking for an innovative leader and performance marketing talent to bring ideas and insights into the business, delivering a strategy that would see them changing perceptions and inspiring others within their sector.

The process:

We worked with the client to establish their criteria and sector-specific target list. We looked at candidates we have established relationships with and utilised our external network to source candidates that would not only meet the role requirements of the brief but would also complement their bold new vision. 

Our candidate short list was diverse and experienced, with solid performance marketing/ digital growth backgrounds and with the knowledge to truly innovate and inspire. It was important to our client that the candidate could lead with both the technical experience for the role and the emotional intelligence to lead a new team. 

With a shortlist that our client was happy with, we funnelled down further through our robust recruitment process, including interviews, before presenting candidates for the clients to interview. At this stage, it was for the client to decide on the best ‘fit’ for their evolving corporate culture. 

The result:

We were delighted that our client secured a commercially driven digital leader with experience of change management. The candidate’s experience within their sector and within digital growth and performance marketing roles make them ideal to take the new strategy forward.
